Tranq's Music Obsession: Nostaliga Edition

So you get something stuck in your head. You'd heard it years before, you never knew what it was, and then all of a sudden it starts to get to you. It eats at you. You want to listen to it again - you want to hear the damned song that you only half remember. Today it was the theme song of Beyond 2000, the opening riff of which I've remembered since I was very young - at least nine, probably closer to six or seven. I needed to find and listen to it today, since any prior efforts had failed to even support that the television show existed. There're two reasons for that - one being that the show was Australian, and the second being that the show's had three titles. It's not very long, but that specific arc of sound has stayed with me for the past decade. I pass it along to you.

Second on the list, perhaps a bit less important, would be Red Right Hand. Now this was featured in Hellboy, for obvious reasons, and is a very nicely done song that was released in the early-mid nineties. I had it stuck in my head for about two days. Catchy, and nice in the background. Ignore the video's pictures, I couldn't find a good quality copy.

There was a album that came out int he 90's called Songs In The Key Of X: Music From and Inspired by the X-Files.

This is where I first heard of Nick Cave and some other artists that I liked on there. Also fell in love with this song from that album:

I like the Red Right Hand song...reminds me of something by Leonard Cohen, only less gravelly.
