Figure I'll start posting these here. Otherwise I forgot what the heck we did, what worked and what didn't.
I've known lots of people over the years that dropped their home phone service in favor of going cellular only. That's certainly an option for a lot of people, but I wanted to keep my home phone service - I just don't want to pay for it anymore.
Just to make you guys aware, last week Global Payments Inc. announced that over 1.5 million credit card accounts were stolen from their network. Everyone, keep an eye on your statements and bank accounts! It can be a long painful process to get identity theft cleaned up if it happens to you.
I started some seeds and transplanted some others today. I also seem to be having a mold problem with some of my seedlings so I tried to clean some of that up.
My little weekend project. It took all weekend, but I think it was worth it. I am a bit sore now, but I really like how this turned out.
So I made another blog post over at my blogspot blog. If you have any interest in this stuff go check it out!
So I've probably already annoyed a couple people in guild about this already (I can't help it, I'm excited) but we finally got in our new chicks! We had originally planned on just three, but we're allowed to have four and we ended up taking an extra from my mother's friend.
Here's the box when we first arrived. There had been something like 40 in the shipment, and she'd already given 20 away - when chicks are sent in the mail, it's typically in large numbers so that they can keep each other warm enough to survive the trip.
I case some of you missed it in the comments of my last blog post, and just in case anyone actualy cares about this stuff, I started a blogspot blog about my adventures in home improvement, yard work, and trying to start a garden while working towards Urban Homesteading (possibly).
I also made a couple more short posts their about some seeds I started a week ago that I haven't managed to kill yet.
So on trellis and planter isn’t going to give me enough to grow veggies to replace most of what I buy. My house came with a 20+ foot tall retaining wall with a planter part way up. Perfect to grow crops, right? Wrong!
